A man, finding himself inexplicably drawn to a mysterious woman at his first sight of her, has no idea just how much of himself he will give to her, just to be near her. He soon finds himself ready to sacrifice anything, and anyone, to satisfy her bizarre and erotic desires. He will be used, humiliated, teased and destroyed willingly.

Window Shopping edition by Edward Cantor Literature Fiction eBooks

This is the tale of a man who becomes mysteriously trapped by the eyes of a perfect stranger. She enslaves and humiliates him solely by the power of her glare, as though she had hypnotized him.

Although I found the premise to be creative and different, by adding a little bit of mystery, it caused to weaken the power exchange relationship between the protagonist and the dominant stranger. Because they don’t know each other it is hard to identify yourself with them or to believe in their relationship. Also, I didn’t really understand the character of Rebecca. She didn’t really add anything to the story, she was only accessory. I kept thinking she would eventually become more involved with either of the character, but no, she appeared out of nowhere, then she disappeared. It would have made more sense to leave her out of the story altogether, I think.

The story was well narrated and edited, with very few syntax errors. It deals mostly with bondage, cross-dressing and humiliation. The scenes are vividly described and alluring. Read it if you need an unconventional read and if you fancy the topics mentioned above.

Window Shopping edition by Edward Cantor Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

When I cover a topic that's not my fetish (actually the multiple orifice stuffing scene was a distraction on the metro home) I have to go into it with the caveat that I bring a bias of disinterest. I don't like forced femme- it's not my personal preference for how my femdom is expressed.

Cantor manages to make a very personal, sub focused fantasy keep my attention. The writing quality is excellent, as is the pacing. I couldn't care less what colour my partner's bedroom is and I don't personally advocate involving innocent bestanders in your fetish in real life, but if you accept this as a mind control fantasy not a DYI book, you can feel the authour's lurid fantasies dripping of the page.

Competently written, I'm particularly impressed how powerful he managed to make the book's "Miss" personality seem while keeping her a cipher. This might be a more common male fantasy than a female one, but as much as the whole universe seemed to revolve around the male protagonist's fetishes, it compensated very well with a sense of dream like unreality.

(I received a review copy)
Mr. Cantor kept me on my toes with this one. A FemDom story for the ages. The price is well worth the delirious mind trip our outwitted protagonist experiences at the whim and persuasion of a mysterious, beautiful Goddess. I hope to hear more from this erotica writer.
Although I'm a fan and writer myself of femdom erotica, I'm not particularly a fan of bondage stories; but Edward Cantor's tale of a man enthralled by a mysterious mistress and, in particular, her captivating eyes, seduced me into following this tale through its extraordinary journey into feminization, humiliation, penetration, chastity, and intense restraint. I found that when I had to put the book down in the middle to briefly go do something else, that I was anxious to get back to it. Window Shopping is by turns arousing and unsettling.

The trials the narrator goes through at the hands of his dominatrix reminded me of the intricate bondage drawings of the 1950s by artists like Jim, Bilbrew, or Stanton, with submissives trussed up in intricate predicaments. The narrator's predicament itself almost feels surreal, as he submits to more and more degradation. We don't learn exactly why he does what he does, other than he is entranced by the mistress and her haunting eyes, but we get a feeling of the psychological currents underlying his addictive willingness to submit to her. We therefore then think about the nature of such obsessions.

Positioned initially in the narrative at the other end of the spectrum opposite the mistress is a "nice" girl whom the narrator dates, but who in the most disturbing scenes of the story becomes sucked into the drama of BDSM too. I was reminded of the noir novels of David Goodis here, with the dominated male caught between the forces of a bad woman and a good woman, and Cantor takes the triangle to surprising places. The ending is a shocker. (By the way, I am not saying the mistress is "bad" because she is into BDSM, and the other girl is "good" because she is vanilla. You have to read the story to see and decide for yourself what might make me call the mistress "bad" or rather a "femme fatale," which is mostly because of what she has the narrator ultimately do.)

A fascinating piece of work, which I plan to re-read!
